We've gotten into the habit of joining our sister and brother in-law at their house for Halloween. We had a nice time this evening around the fire pit.
If you are a regular follower you are probably thinking, "Man, do the birthdays ever end in that clan?" And the answer is, no! Today we celebrated Dad and Jennifer's birthday along with my own.
Today we helped celebrate the marriage of Rebecca Setzer, our family friend. Cigars were in order. Check out some of our guys with their gangster style cigs. ;)
In years past I would have been done and done with holiday shopping by now. I married into a large family though and so that's just not possible anymore! I've officially begun though. Looking forward to black Friday to finish it up.
Look at this sweet halloweeny treat from my administrators! I appreciate that they take the time to do the little things to let us know we are appreciated!
I started a new book this afternoon. NOT the Shades of Grey you may have heard of though! Brian is enjoying Jasper Fforde. What's better than discovering a new author? Not much...
This is our first no-obligations weekend since BEFORE school started. School started on 8-14 so this relaxed weekend is way overdue. We bummed around the mall for a bit today which was fun.
I finally figured out after a year with my iphone how to take a screen shot. This is my new favorite band. They are an indie pop band from the UK. I dig this whole album!
I had a lazy night tonight. Huxley was lazy with me. I figure, this must be what it's like for most people who don't have jobs they bring home with them. It'd be nice to be able to just clock out sometimes.
I love when the kids start making great things that I can hang up at school. I love having my walls covered with student work! This afternoon I hung up some venn diagrams and clouds my kiddos made during our Science lessons.
This gorgeous tree is right near my school. We went by today for the annual fall festival and chili cook-off. I couldn't resist snapping a picture of this glorious fall orange.
One of my favorite things to do is take in change and make it turn into cash. It had been well over a year since we did this and so today I went to the bank. It was not a lot but enough for a date night of course!
Granted it doesn't take much to excite me but I had a lucky sort of day. In addition to getting a free coke from the coke guy, when I got home from work I got this sweet front row parking spot. Woot.
I am so thankful for clean drinking water today. I love to put it in the fridge and drink it COLD. I realize there are countless people who don't enjoy this simple pleasure. I get so thirsty at school - as I can't go to the bathroom so I can't drink liquid either! By the time I get home in the evening I can't get enough of this stuff.
This here is the ice that had accumulated on my car window this morning! Thankfully it wasn't enough to have to scrape. I just hung out inside blasting the defrost until it melted. It certainly tells us that fall has arrived. I'm all for it. I love this kind of weather!
I'm preparing for company tomorrow evening and figured I needed to bake something. I tried a new recipe tonight from one of my favorite cookbooks. They are strawberry bars. They look and smell amazing! I love when I find some time to bake.
For my birthday, one of my friends gave me the Office board game. Of course we love board games and the Office has historically been one of our favorite shows. The best of both worlds. Thanks, Jen!
I LOVE this time of year! This sort of goes along with my sweepstakes obsession but I really get into the Monopoly game at McDonalds. Of course every year I am SO close to winning big. One of these years it's going to happen for me.
