Celebrated yet again today with my family in KC. We went downtown and ate BBQ at Jack Stack. It was amazing! Always love spending time with dad and Daniel.
This is hilarious. I gave a pretest and this kiddo had no clue...and he made it known he had made a "random pick" almost spelled random and idea correctly. Love it.
We took family pictures this afternoon for mom's Christmas card. This is a cute shot of the guys I happened to catch with my phone. I'm thankful mom pays for these pictures and I am looking forward to ordering our own Christmas cards to send. It's going to be my favorite time of year soon!
I'm grateful for administrators who take time for small tokens of appreciation like this. I found a 100 grand bar in my mailbox today with this attached. Love it!
This is my new cmoplimentary gym bag from my new gym - Planet Fitness. I decided my old gym was too far from home and that's why I'm not getting there. I found one closer and cheaper. I like their style. No grunting allowed. That means normal (curvy) people like me are welcomed.
This here is a chair. A comfy chair that my husband usually hogs. He's letting me sit in it tonight! Going to "take a load off" and read a bit. Wednesday evenings are always nice...the thought of 2 more work days to go.
I am really enjoying this new piece of art. We found it in Mcgregor, IA on our little getaway last weekend in a local artist shop. These leaf pieces were beautiful and reasonably priced! We were able to get some as gifts for Christmas. I had to get one for us...
Tonight I am thankful for Betty Crocker and the invention of boxed brownie mix! I generally prefer to bake from scratch but good old Betty makes it possible for me to whip up a batch of brownies for my man after a 10 hour work day. Brownie mix, oil, water, eggs and POOF - brownies!
Somehow or other I am finding a bit of time for reading. I am excited to finish Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafon so I can begin Oryx and the Crake by Margaret Atwood. Atwood is definitely the favorite author I have discovered this year. Captivating!
These curtains have been the source of much stress since July. Just finding the right curtains (color, size, quantity) was a mess. Once I found the ones I liked I had to pick out hardware which posed another challenge. Then there were ordering and shipping issues. Anyway the stars finally aligned (almost) today and we got my gray curtains up! The only remaining problem is that we need one more panel for our largest picture window. At least they are up though. They really make the apartment more homey. Thanks to my amazing hubby for putting them up today EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OPENING DAY FOR FOOTBALL. :0)
Every time we go to the family cabin we get this shot from a bridge nearby. This is looking toward the cabin and our section of the creek. It gets more beautiful every year.
