One of our favorite week night dishes lately are easy personal pizzas made with naan (an Indian style bread). Tonight we used pesto sauce, shrimp, sundried tomatoes and mozzarella.

Groupon is my friend. This is why... We got 2 brunches and 2 bloody marys (after church, folks, not before!) for $18.00! HOLY MOLY! I had the french toast and Brian had the pancakes. Yum. And fun date time with my boo.

I got to work on my 2011 scrapbook tonight! It was a big year for us and we have many photobooks: 2 wedding albums, 2 vacation albums, so I am using a "year in review" concept for a short and sweet scrapbook to take care of the rest of 2011'2 events. Each month has 2 pages like this.

This little machine got me through the day and night! Tonight was Curriculum Night at school so I spent from 8am-8pm at school. This little baby gave me what I needed to get through the night!

Blur

This washer here is sort of representative of how my life feels right now. Pretty much a blur. 12 hour work days including long hours at school and work at home also. I've been dizzy a bit this week, I think from exhaustion. BUT... I know it'll settle down in a week or so. I am still getting the laundry and house things done so that is a good sign.

Brian has started a new business venture. Can you guess what it is? Fragrances. This is a nice perk for a wife. I've not had perfume in quite some time but now that the discounts are beautiful...! So far he is making money and that is a blessing.

Pool Guy

We went to Daniel's place of business today to visit him. I'd not yet seen the pool he spends so much time at these days. It was quite impressive actually.

Meet Maynard

This is Huxley checking out the rodent I brought home. He's been surprisingly good with Maynard the rat. He's just very curious. Maynard is going to school. Hopefully he will be a good fit.

Second First

My second "first" day of school. I think I was more nervous this year than last. I can't say it went on without a hitch. There were high points and low points. And an accidental fire drill and subsequent evacuation. I have a great group. I am excited for this school year!

I Only Saved $43.00

Kohl's is the bomb diggity and this is why. I saved $43.00! I paid $7.56 for a nice, new pair of heels! I needed some short reasonable heels to wear to school this year. Woot for Kohl's cash and super sales. They did not pay me to write this blog either. ;)

This is why! This is my first load from our storage unit at the apartment, ready to go for tomorrow. My room is looking great right now, everything put away in its place. I'll add all this junk to the show tomorrow though and it should keep me busy for my contracted 8-3 day. Still some more stuff to haul but this right here is certainly progress.

It was good to get back into my building today. This is precisely what I saw when I arrived. It's a bit chaotic. I am thankful the custodial staff came to the first grade area first to help with the big stuff. Then my mom-in-law came and helped big time. We got ALL my boxes unpacked. That still leaves quite a few things I took home for the summer but amazing progress for the first day back. School will begin Tuesday and I will be ready! Met some cute kids and awesome parents today. How exciting!!

Today's my LAST day before I go back to work! I have a ritual every season of going through and reorganizing clothes and getting rid of clothes I don't want any longer. It always feels good.

Photo Project

I'm working on framing some photos for my little bro. He has gone through genealogical files with grandpa and picked out a few favorites. Rather than allow these pictures to go back to his black hole of an apartment (I say that with lots of love) I decided to neatly frame and label them for him. So far the project is coming right along. I really find joy in doing things like this for other people.

Daniel is excited to be an uncle. Huxley here is the closest thing he has to a nephew or niece from us (for awhile)! The two had a good time visiting while we were in Columbia. It was SO great to see Daniel. It had been too long.

Where has this summer gone? Tonight Brian and I took some time to celebrate us. We've found that it's important to stop and take a breath once in awhile. We tried a newer place near us. It's a winery of sorts. It was delicious! I had a white wine from Oregon and Brian had a stouty stout beer. We enjoyed crab cakes, bison burger, fries, tender beef tenderloins with three different sauces, garlic mashed potatoes and spinach with gouda! Good stuff.
